A calmer table downtown
This is our second Budapest brunch spot, and it opens onto one of the old town’s busiest crossings. Ferenciek tere throws people at you all day: shoppers, commuters, tourists heading for the Franciscan Church on the corner or turning down Váci utca. Most of them keep moving. We are where you stop, drop the bags by your chair and let the morning slow down a notch.
A lot of our regulars arrive on foot. Someone up from the Danube riverfront, someone who has crossed Elizabeth Bridge, a shopper who has walked the length of Váci utca and wants a coffee they can sit with. Start with brunch, then carry on to the river, or amble over to Vörösmarty tér for the rest of your loop.
Worth ordering
Come hungry. We cook brunch to order from locally-sourced ingredients, and the vegan and veggie options get proper care, with the vegan dishes using far less seed oil so they leave you lighter on your feet. The cookies come out of the oven daily, made with real butter and good chocolate, thick with a snap at the edge and a soft centre. Belgian chocolate one day, Lotus or Dulce de Leche the next. Warm one alongside a specialty coffee, add a mimosa if the day allows, or round things off with a slice from the Cheesecake by Cookie Beacon range.
We are a family-run brunch spot, going since 2021, and we keep it simple: walk-ins only, no bookings. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with a water bowl on request. #webelieveinhandmade
