We live to enjoy cafecitos. Our mission is to create the space for everyone who loves the moment of connection, joy and simple pleasures.
For us it comes from childhood trips with the family. Anywhere we’d go, there will always be multiple stops for cafecitos. A happy moment for everyone. Today, having our own family, we keep this tradition and our son enjoys it the most.
Whenever we have to solve a problem, come up with a creative solution, or want to reconnect with a friend, we go for a cafecito. We sit down, disconnect from tiny things, and open our minds to the flow of brainstorming, free from limits or judgements, fueled by coffee, our favorite dishes and sweets, ideas come up fast.
To round our experience up, traveling the world looking for cafecitos we discovered brunch. More than a decade ago, it was a weekend or even only a Sunday thing from New York & London. We loved it so much, we got hooked. It’s a quintessence of joy: delicious, relaxed & comforting. It’s made our cafecitos journey complete.
That’s why we create these places. That are filled with cozy light of sweet, happy moments. Home out of home. For you to recharge, connect, and enjoy.
In 2003 we created Alsur Café - our little coffee and cookies business in Barcelona, that grew into the first brunch place in the city, the reference of the market. Over time, we opened 10 different locations in Barcelona. With our first project, we learned about the business and the culture. However, in 2020 we decided go wild and to move to Budapest with a completely new project in mind. With a heavy heart, we left the project in Barcelona.
Our family moved to Budapest on February, 2, 2021. Late December 2021 we opened Cookie Beacon · Brunch. In a country where we didn’t know anyone, didn’t speak the language, but we believed Budapest would love our new concept:
Cookie is one of the smallest sweets, it’s comforting and effortless. It was created as a sample of a bigger cake, an easy way to try new flavors. It can be shared or enjoyed individually. It’s a crowd pleaser and a great company for a quiet solitude moment.
Beacon is a welcoming light for a traveler. It brings ships and people together. It gives comfort and security.
Brunch is the epitome of the comfort food that we love and pursue so much around the world.
