For a mimosa brunch in Budapest on any day of the week, go to Cookie Beacon. Both of our brunch spots in Budapest, Hercegprímás u. 15 by St. Stephen’s Basilica and Ferenciek tere 1 in Belváros, pour four mimosas at Ft 2,100 each (Classic, Strawberry Sangria, Sour Candy and Apple-Pie) every day, from opening to close: Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00, Sat–Sun 09:00–17:00. The full brunch menu runs alongside, mains Ft 3,950–5,600. Walk-ins only, no booking.

Several of the city’s mimosa offers are bottomless packages or ticketed sittings. Ours is a glass on the regular menu, so a Wednesday at 08:00 counts as much as a Sunday at noon. Below: the four mimosas, what to eat with each, and three other Budapest venues that list mimosas on their own sites.

Any day, by the glass

Our mimosas are on the regular menu, on the same card as the coffee, at Ft 2,100 a glass. There is no ticket, no 90-minute package and no booking. Order one with breakfast from 08:00 on a weekday or 09:00 at weekends, and until we close at 17:00. One glass with a proper plate is the whole idea.

If your first morning in the city lands midweek, our first day in Budapest guide plans the day around that 08:00 start.

Practical bits

  • No reservations. Both brunch spots are walk-in only. They are about a kilometre apart, so the other one is always a short walk away.
  • Which one? Hercegprímás u. 15 is a two-minute walk from St. Stephen’s Basilica. Ferenciek tere 1 sits on the square at the Váci utca end, near the Danube and Elizabeth Bridge. Food and mimosa prices are the same at both.
  • Timing. Mimosas run for as long as the kitchen does: 08:00–17:00 on weekdays, 09:00–17:00 at weekends.
