1. Who runs it
Where’s the Cookie? is a free game run by Cookie Beacon Brunch, Hercegprímás u. 15, 1051 Budapest (hola@cookiebeacon.com) at its Cookie Beacon Brunch spots: Budapest – Basilica, Budapest – Ferenciek Tere, Bucharest – Amzei, Bucharest – Floreasca, Belgrade – Kralja Petra.
2. Who can play
Anyone can play, and playing is free: no purchase is needed. To claim a prize you must be 14 or older; if you are younger, ask a parent or guardian to enter their own email address.
3. How the game works
- The hunt has five stops played in order. You have three lives for the whole hunt (two at the hardest levels).
- Play as many times as you like. Only winning is limited (see below).
- Each game is checked by our server as you play it. A stop that is left mid-attempt (for example by reloading the page) counts as a miss.
4. Prizes
- The game gives away a limited number of chunky cookies across all our spots: 10 a day and 300 a month. The game day starts at 7:00 Budapest time (8:00 in Bucharest); wins before then count toward the previous day.
- Once the day’s or the month’s cookies have been won, nobody can win a cookie until the next batch (7:00 the next day, or the 1st of the next month). You can still play for fun.
- One cookie per person each calendar month, counted by email address (we treat capital letters, “+” tags and dots in Gmail addresses as the same address).
- The prize is one chunky cookie. It can’t be exchanged for cash or other products.
5. Collecting your cookie
- When you win, you choose the spot where you’ll collect your cookie, and we email you a unique code. The code is sent only by email and is never shown on screen, so make sure you type your address correctly.
- Show the code at the spot you chose within 30 days. It works only there. Our staff check it and hand over your cookie. Each code works once.
- We may cancel a code that was obtained unfairly (see Fair play).
- An expired, already-used or unknown code can’t be exchanged.
6. Fair play
We may refuse or cancel a code if a game was played by automated means, if one person uses several identities to win more than one cookie a month, or if the game was manipulated in any other way.
7. Your data
To send your code we need your first name and email address. If you tick the optional newsletter box, we also keep your email to send you our newsletter; winning never depends on it. Details are in our privacy policy.
8. Changes
We may change or end the game at any time. Codes already won stay valid until their expiry date. Questions? Email hola@cookiebeacon.com.
